About Project

A new outpatient department (OPD) annex was constructed and completed in 2013 at Dil Chora Hospital in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia, with funding from the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR). The project was a collaborative effort between the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Dire Dawa City Administration Health Bureau, and the Ethiopian government.

The three-story annex, built on a 2,150 square meter area, provides ample space for patients and staff. It was designed to be welcoming and safe, addressing the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS treatment. The facility offers integrated services, including outpatient care, counseling, and treatment for various diseases.
