On May 25, 2017, Charge d’Affaires Peter Vrooman and H.E. Ato Daniel Assefa, Mayor of Mekelle city formally inaugurated new regional public health laboratory constructed at a cost of USD $3.5 million (80 million Eth. birr) in Mekelle.
